What people are actually saying
SOCIAL MEDIA is making record profits ..as children, families & educators pay the price. Companies should be ACCOUNTABLE & LIABLE for the addictive content they host ...including hate, self-harm & bullying. WHY aren't they? 🧸 🇨🇦 🧸 https://t.co/ZWb4pNse1p via @toro…
As a nurse and a mom, I've seen what social media does to our kids' mental health. It's by design. Big Tech built platforms to addict children—then tells parents to deal with it. As governor, I'll hold them accountable. Parents shouldn't fight billion-dollar corporations alone.
🚫 They Don't Care According to the Wall Street Journal, studies showed teenagers blamed #Instagram for increased levels of anxiety & depression 13% of UK teenagers and 6% of US users surveyed traced a desire to kill themselves to Instagram #Meta is facing legal challenges 🤐…
alright maybe im going to start believing parents when they say social media is telling their kids to do dangerous stuff cause why is my entire tiktok fyp suddenly telling me im depressed and that I should kill myself
@MarcNixon24 Social media, phone addiction, streaming and gaming addictions are 100% contributing to decline in mental health. Especially in kids. These are facts
@LoudOutside This is like half of the households in America. People think the mental health crisis is social media, but it’s also parents like this. Not everyone should have kids, but ANYONE can have kids.
Kids are happier kicking rocks up and down the streets in underdeveloped countries than our kids are doomscrolling their iPhones & meeting their friends online rather than a local park. Should tell you everything you need to know about social media & devices for your kids
@BBCRadioScot It's simple, ban kids from social media and the internet. The majority of these problems that lead the kids having mental health issues stem from the internet. Yeah theres always gonna be mental health issues. But now it's amplified by the internet.
There's a reason there was a massive uptick in anxiety and depression and other mental issues among young adults and teenagers (mostly female) after smartphones and social media (mostly Instagram) became popular.
@IndianTechGuide The pros to cons in my opinion do not balance each other. Children who can meet in schools and tuitions, don’t really need a social medium to connect. Social Media promotes comparison and in turn results in guilt and frustration. I support the ban.
@IndianTechGuide Makes sense. Teen brains are still developing, and constant social media exposure can affect mental health, sleep, and focus. A ban under 16 could give kids space to grow, learn, and engage with the real world before diving into the pressures of online life.
Why is the govt celebrating Instagram milestones when children are losing focus, mental health & future to social media addiction? States like Karnataka & Andhra are banning it for kids – but Centre is funding reel labs in 15,000 schools? @MediaHarshVT -
@EssexPR Well we had a 10 year push for mental health recognition from people that have no idea what mental health is , all those pushing onto kids , social media etc not only is it dangerous but it leads to this .. adhd the gift that keeps giving .. all coming back to bite the b…
@HousewivesHub Where is her PR team? She’s focused on herself, not her kids. Lost custody of Ever, status of her other two unknown. She knows she messed up—so why comment on social media? She needs a break from social media, focus on her kids, and work on her mental health. Smh!
